The old Bentinck Estate Distillery was established in the 1920's, beneath the grandeur of Mt. Bentinck. In the early 1960's, the Georgetown distillery became St. Vincent Distillers, Ltd. Today, the Greaves family of St. Vincent, own and manage one of the finest distilleries in the Eastern Caribbean. Ken Greaves manages the newly updated facility, while master distiller Fitz-Stephen Pitt, oversees the production.
The character of this award winning spirit is derived from the purity of the rum, and the slow aging in American oak bourbon barrels. The finished product, St. Vincent Sunset, is unmistakable. In the United States, this fine spirit is available in three styles; Sunset 169 Rum, Sunset Light Rum, and Sunset Extra Gold Rum
In the prestigious "Caribbean Week Rumfest," St. Vincent Distillers Ltd. have placed among the top ten, ten out of the last eleven years. They have placed within the top three, six of those ten years. The St. Vincent Distillers Ltd., have few equals in the entire Caribbean.
